FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Where’s Waldo?
Turns out he’s in Fairfield.
The iconic book character will be hiding in 25 downtown businesses from July 1 to 29 and you can pick up a Waldo passport at Fairfield University Bookstore and start your hunt for a chance at prizes.
The fun begins July 1 at Saugatuck Sweets across from Sherman Green on Reef Road. Stop by the ice cream mecca from noon to 1 p.m. and meet the man himself. All participants in the scavenger hunt receive a free soft serve ice cream compliments of owner Al Di Guido.
A Waldo Shindig is planned for 1 to 2 p.m. July 29 at the bookstore and you can get your photo taken with Waldo and see if you can snag some of the prizes.
Waldo’s locations are hush-hush, but you might find some clues in participating shops: Sound Runner, Barber Serville, Magic Beans, Island Outfitters, Apricot Lane, La Moda, Saugatuck Sweets, Hands On Pottery, The Italian Kitchen, Freshii, Vintage Garden, Catch A Healthy Habit, No. 299, Salt Water, The Label Exchange, Zane’s Cycles, The Tennis Spot, Flash Pointe Dance, Beadworks, Unity Pharmacy, Dash N’ Drizzle, Specs, Capri and B.
