It allows the user to manage health appointments, from maternity to pediatrics and family medicine, on smartphones and get advice, reminders, and schedule appointments on their smartphone.

It was launched with "mothers in mind," said Diane Auger, the hospital's Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer "because they often manage the health of the whole family."

"Grow App" enables users to find doctors, schedule urgent care visits, and tap into virtual care.

"The Grow Family Health Organizer is a powerful tool on mom's smartphone, making it easy to track health milestones for every family member through daily health tips, trackers, reminders and more, invite other family members and connect with local health services," said Auger.

The app was produced by Wildflower Health, a company based in San Francisco. It is being marketed to consumers in Bridgeport by Everyday Health.

"Young mothers use their smartphone to do everything, but often it's hard to actually connect to healthcare right from your phone," said Leah Sparks, co-founder and CEO of Wildflower Health.

"Wildflower's applications help consumers do just that, connect to care when they need it on their mobile device."

To get the new app, text "Grow App" to 203-349-6339 or download the free app from iTunes.
