Besides the new 10K, the race will also have net timing, which will provide more accurate times. There will also be an awards ceremony after the races and a fire/police division.

The 10K loop starts and finishes at Columbus Park. The course goes up Bedford Street and loops around the Ridgeway Shopping Center and comes back to Columbus Park on Sumner Street.

Net timing was added in response to the large field, which had 900 finishers last year. The awards ceremony will also include $100 gift cards to the men’s and women’s winners in both races. There will also be $25  gift cards for winners in both divisions of six age groups. The winning teams in the fire/police division will also be awarded trophies.

Runners who donate or raise $100 (plus registration fee) for the Bennett Cancer Center will be entered to win two round-trip tickets on JetBlue or four VIP Yankee tickets or four VIP Red Sox tickets.

Runners can pre-register at www.hopeinmotion.org, or they can register the morning of the race for a higher fee. One hundred percent of donations raised support the Bennett Cancer Center. The money provides quality-of-life services, such as nutrition, yoga, transportation, and treatment navigation programs -- all free for patients.
