Since it’s inception in 1988 at Roger Ludlowe Field in Fairfield, the weekend has celebrated the tradition of Irish music, dancing, drama and sports while raising funds to benefit the Gaelic-American Club.

From its origin, the Fairfield County Irish Festival has successfully showcased the best of Irish entertainment. For the festival’s first thirteen years it was held on the grounds of the former Roger Ludlowe High School. When construction of a new school complex began, the Festival was held at various locations including Jennings Beach, Seaside Park and Indian Ledge Park before finding a more permanent home at Fairfield University. This site has allowed the committee to expand its displays of Irish sports, as well as increase the entertainment, cultural displays and vendor offerings.

Guests at this year's festival have the option to take home a pot of gold with grand prizes including a flatscreen TV, Apple Watch, cash prizes and much more.

With hundreds of local members, the Gaelic- American Club has helped promote Irish culture, events and traditions throughout the county. The festival will be held on Friday, June 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $12 a day or $20 for a weekend pass.
