The Pearl at Longshore teamed up with Valor Spirits and The Greatest Blaze to host a Summer Soirée, a fundraiser for police, firefighters and EMS staff in Westport and Fairfield that garnered $10,000 for the departments.

But the four chiefs and their teams decided the money would be best used by their fellow first responders in Texas as they assist with the ongoing Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. All $10,000 will be redirected to the affected area.

“We are so happy to have worked with our friends at Pearl to honor and support our first responders in Fairfield and Westport. That is our company’s mission,” said Valor Spirits co-founder Alex Plitsas. “We were even more happy to see the gracious way in which our first responders then asked that the funds be sent to support relief efforts in Texas. It speaks volumes to their character and why we need to support them.”

The event saw a bit of rain, but guests enjoyed dancing and tasty delicacies at Pearl, which is located at Longshore Club Park.

“We appreciate everyone who attended and supported our first responders,” said Marc Backon, Pearl’s owner.
