The camp, operated by Girl Scouts of Connecticut, licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the American Camp Association offers girls an opportunity to sample culture and learn different skills in outdoor cooking, food prep, safety, and take away a passport filled with recipes to take home with the program International Food Traveler, chart the stars, build a rocket, and then pack their gear with the Trip to Mars program, and refine their outdoor living skills in fire building, shelter making, and trail signs at Girl Scout Survival Camp.

Throughout the summer girls develop leadership qualities, learn and practice outdoor skills, and receive instructional swim.

Younger girls begin their camp experience by leading songs and playing games. Girls in grades nine to 12 can take part in leadership programs.
