According to Operation Hope Executive Director Carla Miklos, this is the third year the nonprofit has partnered with Chip’s on Thanksgiving Day.

“We’ve been very fortunate with this [event],” Miklos said. “They are extremely generous and donate 100 percent of all proceeds and tips.”

Miklos told the Daily Voice that in the two previous years, Chip’s has raised and donated more than $15,000 to the organization. Operation Hope runs Fairfield’s food pantry, a men’s, women’s and family shelter, and maintains more than 60 affordable housing units in Fairfield and Bridgeport.

To help out, you can enjoy a fixed price breakfast of buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, a choice of bacon or sausage and a choice of coffee or tea for $12 per person.

Businesses also can sponsor tables for $50 a piece.

For Miklos, however, Chip’s is just one member of Fairfield’s community that has helped the organization during the holiday season.

“We’ve had so much generosity this year from classrooms and neighbors and local business that we’ve been able to put together nearly 200 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need,” Miklos said.

For those who can't make it to Chip’s on Nov. 27 but still wants to give to Operation Hope during the holiday season, there are two more opportunities coming up in December:

  • On Dec. 6 and 7, Red Mango on Black Rock Turnpike will be donating $1 to Operation Hope for every small cup of yogurt with one topping sold at $5 each.
  • On Dec. 21, William B. Meyer Inc. will be hosting a 5K run with proceeds donated to Operation Hope and Fairfield’s PBA.
