The state’s tourism motto, “Connecticut Still Revolutionary,” applies to Pequot Library, according to a press release from the Connecticut Office of Tourism.

“Pequot Library’s robust programming plus dedicated art gallery with rotating exhibitions, the neighboring beach community, and high-quality local restaurants helped the state of Connecticut decide to designate it as one of its ‘destination getaway locations,’” said the statement.

"As a destination site, Pequot Library offers a unique experience to Fairfield residents and beyond. Residents and visitors alike make Pequot Library their 'getaway' destination, while they enjoy the surrounding beaches and restaurants," the statement said. "With its many events and programs in literature and music, The Perkin Gallery, plus events in science, and the humanities, Pequot Library met all of the state’s requirements. "

Those seeking activities for the family, arts, culture, or relaxation can visit the Pequot Library. All of the Pequot Library’s classes and programs are open to the public.

The library is at 720 Pequot Ave., Southport.
