Fairfield To Celebrate 375th Anniversary With Grand Gala

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The town of Fairfield will celebrate its history with a 375th anniversary Grand Gala on Nov. 15 at Sacred Heart University. The town was founded in 1639, and it has developed into a town that its residents are proud to call home.

“As our entire town joins together throughout the year to celebrate this historic anniversary that will culminate with this Grand Gala in November, I encourage everyone to participate in this special celebration and be part of a unique time in Fairfield’s history,” First Selectman Mike Tetreau said.

“We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of Fairfield’s 375th," said Armando Goncalves, People’s United Bank’s Southern Connecticut market president. "Our support reflects both our 172-year history in Fairfield County and our commitment to revitalize and enrich the communities we serve in Connecticut, New York and Northern New England.”

Sacred Heart University President John J. Petillo also excitement about the school’s participation in the Grand Gala.

“We look forward to welcoming our Fairfield neighbors here to celebrate the town’s 375-year history and to experience our own growth in the 50 years that we have been part of the Fairfield community.”

Chairs for the Grand Gala are Julia DeMeo, Marlene Battista and Lee Reynolds Crouch. The evening’s events will include cocktails, dinner and dancing. Band Together CT will entertain.
