The Kennedy Center, a Trumbull-based nonprofit that serves hundreds of children and young people in Connecticut, is debuting its JACKS Benefit Concert on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne.

The concert will help the Kennedy Center's Children's Services, which are housed in Stratford.

The pre-concert party starts at 7 p.m. and after some food, drinks, mingling, and a silent auction, patrons can head into the theater at 8:30 p.m. for an evening of musical entertainment.

Performing will be: percussionist Steve Scales, formerly with the Talking Heads; guitarist Rohn Lawrence; bass player Dave Livolsi of Kung Fu; vocalist Timmy Maia; drummer Trevor Somerville; and keyboardist Lenny Underwood.

Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, both former members of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club will join the group for an encore performance.

“Kennedy Center Children’s Services needs the community’s support now more than ever,” said Martin D. Schwartz, its president and CEO. “We are being presented with the challenge of providing more services for children with less funding.”
