Fairfield Enjoys Nearly 2 Inches Of Snow

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Nearly 2 inches of snow fell on Fairfield during Tuesday's storm, with the flurries moving away in the late afternoon.

But Fairfield's public schools were not afraid of the snow. Fairfield was one of the few public school districts in the region to open -- and stay open for the whole day -- bucking the area trend Tuesday. Bridgeport also had classes, but no other nearby schools were in session.  

No more snow was expected to fall Tuesday evening, but the freezing weather is here to stay for the week.

According to the National Weather Service, residents should expect more snow by the end of the week and into the weekend.
