Tetreau will announce the upcoming concert, Beatles, Stones & The British Invasion – A Benefit Concert for Alzheimer’s, to be held Friday, March 13, at the Fairfield Theatre Company. The event features Band Together CT founder and Fairfield resident Jerry Vigorito.
School of Rock Fairfield and select Fairfield merchants will be decorating their store windows on Saturday at Chef's Table at 10 a.m. and offering product discounts. The event is called Paint the Town Purple Awareness Blitz!
Tetreau will place a purple ribbon on a tree outside Chef’s Table. Musical entertainment will be provided by students from School of Rock. Chef’s Table is at 1561 Post Road.
The ribbons will raise awareness for the 72,000 individuals in Connecticut who suffer from Alzheimer’s and will encourage the community to attend the concert.
Band Together founders and Connecticut residents Jerry Vigorito (Fairfield) and Rob Fried (Redding) will team up with Fuzz and Cyrus Madan from Deep Banana Blackout and featured vocalists Tracy James, Jean Marie Rivera and Carrie Sangiovanni from Caravan Of Thieves; drummer Mike Marble; saxophonist Jim Clark; and Frisky A Go Go Dancers to host the Rock benefit.
“This evening is a fun and meaningful way to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease," said Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh, CEO, Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter. "Music enriches the lives of people with Alzheimer's disease. It allows for self-expression and engagement, even after dementia has progressed."
Tickets ($40 each) are available online or via phone at 203-259-1036. Event proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter.
