FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Players on the Fairfield Giants Pop Warner football team presented more than 200 new and gently used coats to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission last week at Sullivan Field.

The players donated the coats to the agency’s volunteer coordinator, Jennifer Christie-Jump. She also shared with players, coaches and parents information about the population that needs support, and how the donations are used by the Rescue Mission.

Giants players collected coats during the fall. The Giants are engaged in several community outreach activities including fundraising, hands-on labor and the collection of goods for various agencies. Other groups that have received assistance from the Giants include Al’s Angels and the Bridgeport Hospital Toy Closet for Pediatrics.
