To The Editor:
Our town will greatly benefit by re-electing Amy Mezoff to the RTM, and I urge voters in District 4 (Osborn Hill School) to re-elect her. A native Fairfielder, she always puts our town first, ahead of politics. In my two RTM terms I haven't seen anyone more quietly hard working, dedicated and independent. She has spent countless hours meeting individually with town officials seeking information crucial to our review of important spending decisions, to help identify cost savings without cutting services. And she has donated her considerable graphics and analytic skills compiling reams of data and creating charts and graphics to assist us with complex issues.
Aside from her work on the RTM, she has provided significant volunteer and pro-bono work for such diverse causes as Operation Hope, Fairfield's 375th Anniversary Committee, Hurricane Sandy relief and cleanup, and the DAR's Torn and Tattered Flags drive for Veterans to properly dispose of flags, to name a few. She has been very active in finding a common sense way to deal with affordable housing while maintaining the character of our neighborhoods, and has worked with the Police Department on safety issues.
She has proven her ability to reach 'across the aisle' in a bipartisan manner and, if re-elected, will help the RTM to be a more effective town body. Please vote for Amy on November 5!
