Fairfield Letter: Support Vahey In State Rep. Primary

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Daily Voice accepts signed letters to the editor. Send letters to fairfield@dailyvoice.com.

To the editor:

As the deputy chief of staff in the Fairfield First Selectman’s Office for over 14 years, I have had the privilege of working with many wonderful and committed selectmen, one of whom is Cristin McCarthy Vahey who is running for state representative in the 133rd District.

I can’t think of anyone more qualified to represent Fairfield’s citizens. Not only does Cristin have high morals and is very devoted to her family, she is hard working, trustworthy and knows and understands the people and issues in our town very well.

Cristin is meticulous in researching every voting item that comes before the Board of Selectmen, which she currently  serves on, and the RTM, which she was previously elected to.

Cristin does her homework and  is always prepared. She asks the right questions at meetings and stands up for the citizens of our town, putting our needs first.

Cristin is one of the most ethical and brightest individuals I have ever worked with. She inspires me to keep helping people and to go above and beyond in making our town the great place it is.

It’s important who we elect to office since these people make decisions that affect our daily lives. Cristin is the ideal candidate—an active community member, a devoted mother and wife, a good neighbor, a well-respected leader in town government, a former social worker and a daughter, granddaughter and wife of veterans who honorably served our country.

As a mother of three, Cristin will fight to keep our schools safe and strong. She will also help create jobs in our state bringing in new, needed revenue and will fight to bring more state aid and grants to Fairfield.

On primary day, which is Aug. 12, I ask Democrats living in the 133rd state representative district to please vote for Cristin McCarthy Vahey. Thank you.
