We encourage our Republican friends across Fairfield and Southport to vote for John McKinney at the Republican primary on Aug. 12.
The winner of the Republican primary will face Democrat Dan Malloy in November in what is expected to be an extremely competitive election for our next governor.
As the majority and deputy majority leaders of the Fairfield RTM, we continue to hear from residents, business owners and taxpayers alike that Connecticut is becoming unaffordable and that the right environment to stimulate economic growth is absent.
Thankfully, John McKinney has developed a plan to put taxpayers first and turn the tide in Connecticut. When you read McKinney's plan for turning Connecticut around, you will see first hand that it is based upon achievable goals that leverage John’s experience and in-depth knowledge of how our state government operates and how we can get our economy back on track.
Maybe this is why the Hartford Courant and London Day editorial pages have both endorsed John McKinney?
We believe John McKinney is a trusted leader who says what he means. His voting record is a testament to his beliefs, and while others may “chirp” about what they would do if elected, chances are that McKinney has already done it.
Moreover, John’s decade of legislative experience as a State Senator, which is grounded in both compassion and fiscal responsibility, has provided him with the experiences needed to develop the pragmatic leadership skills that are sorely needed in Hartford.
Please join us in voting for John McKinney on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at your normal polling location. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
