Last year, the District 9 (vote at FLHS) RTM members, all Republicans, voted in lockstep for an illegal plan that would have dissolved our local district. I asked them all to vote against the plan, which has since been ruled illegal by a Superior Court Judge. I received no answer. So, after the vote, I wrote them again to express my disappointment.
Only two of the five responded. One response was a polite recitation of party talking points. At least it was polite. Another of the reps, Ellen Jacobs sent me an email that was so partisan and so full of errors (on information she should have straight before sending out to a constituent) that I read it several times in disbelief. The other three Republican RTM representatives, once again, did not even bother to respond.
On November 5, cast your vote for Kathleen Griffin, Kathryn Gussen and Donna Karnal – three women who care about our town and will make a difference for ALL VOTERS in District 9. They are all seasoned, educated professionals who can put aside partisan differences and get the work done.
Kathleen Griffin has previously served on the RTM with distinction and deserves another opportunity to do so. Kathryn Gussen is a licensed attorney who has worked hard on the Board of Assessment Appeals. Donna Karnal is an entrepreneur with a Masters in Conflict Resolution – certainly something of value on the RTM!
Vote Griffin-Gussen-Karnal on Nov. 5. Balanced. Responsible. Leadership!
