Fairfield Looks Ahead To 2013

Happy New Year, Fairfield. What's your resolution for 2013? Photo Credit: ChristmasStockPhotos.com

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield begins a new year today, and The Fairfield Daily Voice asked what the town should look forward to in 2013. Here’s a few of the responses we received.

State Rep. Tony Hwang and the rest of the state delegation had a big year in 2012, all handily winning re-election. Around the holidays, Hwang offered his resolution for 2013:

“I have made a resolution to re-affirm and work to celebrate what is special and positive in our community,” Hwang said on his Facebook page recently.

Gerry Speno, program director of Fairfield’s TV network FairTV, also had a big 2012. His coverage of town meetings went live last summer. The network already now has a new advisory committee which hopes to give it a larger role in Fairfield.

Speno also said he looks forward to big things for his station in 2013. The channel will expand its viewer base to AT&T U-verse along with its current service on Cablevision. Speno said the channel also will move to a new office in 2013 and add to its already robust meeting coverage.

“We as well hope to expand our website a bit and bring some additional information to our viewers,” Speno wrote in a comment on The Fairfield Daily Voice. “We're looking to help bring a New Year to Fairfield.”

We still want to hear what you’re hoping to get out of 2013, Fairfield. Feel free to let us know in the comments below or head over to the Fairfield Daily Voice Facebook page to share your thoughts.
