Burroughs combines past and present images of landmarks around Fairfield and his work is set to be on display at the museum through Feb. 18. The exhibit, "Fairfield: Back & Forth," features Burroughs' best work and allows "viewers to walk through time without taking a step."
The Museum is also continuing its "Holiday Express Train Show" through Jan. 5. Residents are invited to come watch the engines chug along through miniature villages and a scenic wintry wonderland. The exhibit features a different theme each weekend. The theme for the Dec. 21 weekend is Modern-era European Trains with the Pennsylvania Railroad featured on Dec. 28 and circus trains featured on Jan. 4.
The Holiday Express Train Show hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays. The exhibit has special hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Dec. 23 to 31 but is closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
The exhibit is presented by members of the Housatonic Model Railroad Club and Connecticut G-Scalers Club, as well as Hobbytown. Fairfield: Back & Forth is made possible through the support from the Betty R. and Ralph Sheffer Foundation.
The Fairfield Museum & History Center is located at 370 Beach Road in Fairfield.
