FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Town of Fairfield is calling on all residents, businesses and city and school employees to nominate their choice for the 13th annual Fairfielder and Town Employee of the Year Awards.
First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced that nominations must be made by noon on Monday, Nov. 7.
“There’s no better way to start the holiday season than to honor members of our community who go above and beyond to make a positive difference for Fairfield. These awards are a popular and rewarding town tradition that recognize so many wonderful and devoted residents and employees. I encourage individuals to submit nominations for someone you believe is a deserving award recipient,” Tetreau said.
The primary qualities for consideration are service and job performance that goes beyond the daily work of the individual and that benefits the Fairfield government and community. Such basic criteria include, but is not limited to:
- Performance excellence
- Cooperation and Spirit
- Outstanding public service
Nominations can be made online here , or by printing a ballot and submitting to the town.
The Board of Selectmen will present the awards at one of its meetings in December to two outstanding individuals — one Fairfield resident and one town employee.
The winners’ names will be added to a plaque which lists the names of all previous winners and the year they received their award. The plaque hangs in the entryway of Independence Hall on the Burr Homestead.
