Breaking News: $5 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In Fairfield County

Fairfield's District 1 Republicans Take to the Web

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Voters who will cast ballots at the Fairfield Senior Center this November can now meet half of their district’s Representative Town Meeting candidates in one place. The Republican half of the District 1 ticket announced last week that they’ve launched a unified Website to reach out to their constituents.

“More and more voters are now turning to a variety of Web-based and social media platforms for information about local candidates,” said Eric G. Sundman, the most senior member of the District 1 delegation. “We believe the establishment of a District 1 and individual candidate Websites will help us to take our balanced, fiscally responsible platform directly to District 1 voters.”

District 1, which covers the beach area and Southport, currently has five Republicans representing it. Four are part of the group running for reelection: Sundman, David Becker, Carolyn Richmond and Michael Herley. They also welcome newcomer Gaylord Meyer to their ranks.

“Each of our District 1 candidates is passionate about keeping Fairfield affordable and investing in its future,” Meyer said. “We look forward to engaging with old and new friends along the campaign trail this season.”

The Website has links to each candidate’s individual home page and Twitter feed. On each page, voters can read up on the candidate’s background and policies and pose questions directly to the five hopefuls.
