Find Fun Ways To Fill February Break in Fairfield

February break for the Fairfield Public Schools did not suffer the same fate as Spring Vacation so that means next week Fairfield’s kids will have the full week off. The question is: What are they going to do all week? Here are a few suggestions for activities and camps around town.

• For history buffs, the Fairfield Museum and History Center has programs all week. Some activities will be entertaining, such as Christina Frei’s performance on the Founding Fathers on Monday afternoon. Others will take a hands-on approach, such as Friday’s “Colonial Hard Times,” which will feature cooking and crafts based on Colonial life. A full schedule is available here .

• If you kids are athletes, Sportsplex on Mill Plain Road has a weeklong day camp spanning four of its facilities. Campers will split time among the Gymnastics and Cheerleading Academy, and Carabiner’s Indoor Climbing on Monday and Friday, and between the Fairfield Ice Academy and The Field House on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Families can sign up for the full week or single days at the complex’s website .

• If your kids love animals , the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Fairfield center has a February break camp. Dubbed “Wild Winter Adventures,” the four-day program will feature animal visitors and crafts for kids from prekindergarten to fifth grade. Kids can enroll here for one day or the full series, which lasts from Tuesday to Friday.

• If science is their thing, then kids will find some cool programs at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport throughout the week. It has extra planetarium shows each day: “The Little Star that Could,” “The Dawn of the Space Age” and “Hubble Vision.” And it just rolled out a new exhibit for music fans called “ Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World ,” along with twice-daily demos by the museum’s teachers.
