FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Say hello to Gerry, a 2- to 3-year-old kitten. Gerry, the latest edition of Wednesday’s Pet, is just one of the many pets awaiting adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter.
Former Selectman Sherri Steeneck started Wednesday’s Pet last year to draw attention to the many dogs and cats waiting adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter. Every animal featured as Wednesday’s Pet has been adopted, but there are many waiting for homes, especially cats.
If you’re interested in taking Gerry home, you can visit him at the Fairfield Animal Shelter, 211 One Rod Highway, or call 203-254-4857. Pets that are already spayed or neutered cost $5 to adopt. Those who are not yet fixed cost $50 but come with a voucher for the procedure.
To see more of the pets available for adoption, visit the Animal Control department’s new website or search “Fairfield” on Petfinder.
