Visitors to the market were greeted by red heart-shaped balloons and a room filled with many tasty-looking goodies. Chocolate-covered pretzels, cherry pies, and brownies were among the popular items sold at the market last weekend.

The many vendors and their items filled the hallways, with the romantic theme in mind. They sold such items as Greek oils and jewelry, soaps and baked goods, animal products and much more.

"I came here to find something different for my girlfriend," said Mark Smith. "I found her something beautiful that she wouldn't be able to go to any other store to find. It's a one-of-a-kind piece."

The artisan vendors included Bead Dangle Design, Blue Lotus Bracelets, BringtheHoopla, Draw The Line Apparel, Kilbride Creations, KP Jewelry, Look & Sea, Oronoque Farms, Raven & The Rose Handcrafted Soaps, Stock the Bar Candles, The Glass Source Stained Glass Studio, The Little Dog Laughed and TJJ Sews.

There were also mini-Tarot readings with Sally Russo. Live music was performed by Elle Sera and Sara Jadbabaie & Oriana Mack.

“We were thrilled to have the market here [at the Valley United Way building] and it turned out to be a nice day. All the vendors are great, and the tables had some great things to offer,” said Sharon Gibson-Ellis, president and COO of Valley United Way.

“This was the first time they approached us about moving the market to a different place, and we’re glad to have them. Nicole and everyone involved are good people and I can see how they attract many great vendors,” Gibson-Ellis added. “The music has been great and it was good to hear it from my desk all day.”

The main room of the market included an entire table of chocolate items — chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels, and more — that were all free for the sampling.

“We have had a lovely committed crowd of great followers. We are thrilled to be at Valley United Way as they have been a great partner,” said Nicole Heriot-Mikula.
