Stubby Needs a Home in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Say hello to Stubby. He’s a full-grown Jack Russell terrier, named for his short but active tail. He’s also one of the many pets waiting for adoption at the Fairfield Animal Shelter.

Animal Control officers caution that Stubby still needs some training, and would not recommend him for a home with young children or other pets. They suggest an owner with experience training another dog, and the time to invest in conditioning Stubby.

“Stubby is a very shy dog that takes a bit of a while to warm-up to people,” reads his bio on the Animal Control website. “But when time is spent with him and he gets to know you, he will give you his love unconditionally.”

If you’re interested in taking Stubby home, you can visit him at the Fairfield Animal Shelter on 211 One Rod Highway or call 203-254-4857. Because he already is neutered, Stubby costs just $5 to adopt. His unsprayed or unneutered friends cost $50 to adopt, but included in the fee is a voucher for fixing.

To see more of the pets available for adoption, visit the Animal Control department’s new website or search “Fairfield” on Petfinder.
