This fundraiser will pay tribute to several notables who have supported the Center's three-year transformation from the former Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County to become the first Family Justice Center in the state.
Elizabeth M. Pfriem of Southport is the gala’s title sponsor. The Center annually serves thousands of women, men and children who are victims of domestic and sexual violence and child abuse in communities, including Bridgeport, Fairfield, Easton, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
As a Family Justice Center, it will provide many services from crisis counseling to legal help in a single safe place.
Its official grand opening will take place on April 4. Special guests at the gala will include Gov. Dannel Malloy and his wife, Cathy Malloy. The Malloys have been steadfast supporters of The Center for Family Justice’s transformation, playing a key role in supporting a $1.2 million state bond that helped underwrite a major renovation of The Center’s headquarters at 753 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport.
Other honorees are business and community leaders who were key supporters of The Center’s transformation.
They include: Cindi Bigelow, President/CEO of Fairfield-based Bigelow Tea; former Connecticut DMV Commissioner Andres Ayala; Aquarion Water Co.; The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival; Fairfield County Community’s Foundation; the Irwin W. and Dorothy M. Nessel Foundation; Patriot Bank, and Verizon.
