FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Tickets are now available for Near & Far Aid’s 22nd annual Spring Gala.
The event, scheduled for March 3 at the flagship Mitchells store in Westport, is designed to raise money for Fairfield County’s povery-fighting organizations, according to organizers.
“We’re one step closer to this amazing evening and are optimistic that we will surpass our fundraising goals,” said Jaclyn Picarillo, who is co-chairing the gala alongside Katie Dresch. “The support from sponsors and local vendors has been tremendous.”
Billed as a “glamorous” event with “delicious food,” dancing and fashion, the gala has a theme of "Sky’s the Limit – The Ultimate (Indoor) Rooftop Party,” Picarillo and Dresch said in a statement.
This year’s event is to feature a top model runway fashion show showcasing Brunello Cucinelli’s Hot Spring 2017 Collection with music from 45 Riots, a New York City-based collective of touring musicians, organizers said.
The event is to feature live, silent auctions on prizes like a Napa Winery vacation with a tour and private accommodations and a San Francisco shopping spree, a one-year membership with the Carefree Boat Club of Southern Connecticut, hard-to-get reservations and chef’s tasting menus with wine pairings at Connecticut and New York City restaurants, and tickets to the newest Broadway shows with backstage access.
“Gala brings out all the stops,” said Near & Far Aid’s President Joan Panagos. “It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and a night people look forward to because they can make a real difference while having a good time.”
Near & Far Aid is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that has provided more than $16 million in assistance to more than 100 local poverty-fighting agencies since 2000, organizers said.
Tickets to this year's gala are available for $350 with a limited number of premium seats available for $400, according to organizers. Tickets can be purchased here .
