Crowds turned out from around the area to enjoy a helping of blueberry pie with ice cream on top and to shop from local vendors, including artist Patrick Marino, Casey the clown, Dee’s Designs, and many jewelry tables.
The festival is put together by volunteers from the church, including Rachel Brunt. She was among the volunteers inside the church serving lunch and, of course, blueberry pie and muffins for dessert.
“You just have to try the pie, it’s really good,” said Burt.
Martha Quinn and her husband, Tim, were there to make sure everyone had a good time. “This year I baked 240 pies,” Martha said. This was her fourth year of making the pies for the church’s festival.
She outlined the church's other big events. “Each month starting in September, on the third Saturday, we hold a spaghetti supper,” she said. “With the supper, it only costs $11 and you get the spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, dessert, and even a beverage.”
For entertainment at the Blueberry Festival, the band Dirt Road Pickers hit the stage, playing classics from Johnny Cash and other legends.
