For those who are still making the transition themselves, there are three great spots in town where you can pick up a tree of your own, and much more.

Fairfield’s Boy Scout Troop 82 is holding its 50th annual Christmas tree sale at 578 Post Road. The sale is the troop’s only fundraiser of the year. Troop 82 began selling trees on Nov. 29 and will be open until Dec. 21.

Committee Chair Mike Allen, of Troop 82, said they began with more than 300 trees have already sold more than half. Community members, including Selectman Cristin McCarthy Vahey, were on hand volunteering on Sunday, Dec. 7. Trees mostly range from 4 to 7 feet and all cost $40. Also for sale are plain wreaths for $15 and wreaths with bows for $20. The Troop’s sale is open Thursdays and Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Miro Brothers Landscaping, located on Burroughs Road, is holding its annual Christmas Tree sale at the Dairy Queen at 1902 Post Road. Each year the landscaping company rents the Dairy Queen and parking lot for its sale of more than 1,000 trees. For those looking for larger trees, upward of 13 to 14 feet, and wreaths, Miro’s sale is your place. Miro’s lot holds about 400 trees and is restocked daily from its farm of hundreds. The trees start at about $35, with larger trees costing more than $275.

Steve Macauley of Miro Brothers Landscaping, said business is good and they will be open until Dec. 24, or when they sell out. “We hope we sell out,” he said with a smile. “That’s always the target business plan.” The Miro Brothers sale is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If ornaments, lights and other holiday essentials are on your list of must-haves for this holiday season, and you’re strapped for time, Home Depot on 541 Kings Highway Cutoff is the place for you. Trees top out at 12 feet at $99.98, with many 6- to 8-foot trees reasonably priced at about $45. Along with wreaths, garland and other holiday plants, Home Depot also offers ornaments, lights and firewood for your Christmas Day yuletide. Home Depot is open Mondays to Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
