16 Sandy Hook Families Settle $1.5M Lawsuit Against Shooter's Estate

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The families of 16 Sandy Hook shooting victims are settling a $1.5 million lawsuit against the estate of Nancy Lanza, the mother of the shooter, Adam Lanza, reports Newstimes.

The families of 14 who died and two victims who were shot and survived will receive about $94,000 each from the lawsuit.

Adam Lanza, 20, opened fire inside Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown on Dec. 14, 2012. He shot and killed 20 first-graders and six educators in the attack before turning the gun on himself. He killed his mother in their home before going on the rampage in the elementary school.
