The 26-year-old woman who was found dead late Sunday morning in Burlington, Connecticut was the victim of a homicide, authorities said.
The body was located in the area of Upson Road in Burlington at approximately 11:08 a.m. on Sunday. Troopers from the Litchfield barracks were dispatched to the area of Upson Road in Burlington after being notified that the body had been located in a body of water in that area.
The victim has been identified as Kelsey Mazzamaro of Litchfield.
An autopsy has revealed that someone strangled her to death and detectives from the Western District Major Crime Division are investigating the death as a homicide.
