Blood Tests May Reveal Cancer, Research Finds

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- New research shows blood testing can help identify potential markers of cancer in mothers, according to CBS News.

The study, performed by Tufts Medical Center, studied eight pregnant women with abnormal blood testing results and published the findings in  the Journal of the American Medical Association, CBS News reported. 

If cancer is present, it will shed DNA into the mother's blood creating the imbalance in some prenatal blood tests, CBS News said.
