  • Ethan Eckhoff, 19, of Chelmsford, Mass., who was spotted walking in the area of Round Hill and Mill Plain roads, ended up confessing to breaking into cars and was charged with attempting to bribe Fairfield police to let him go, police said.
  • After an investigation, Fairfield police arrested Barry Hammons, 61, of Fairfield after he harassed a woman who has a protective order against him, even leaving a message on her windshield during a high school commencement ceremony.
  • William Hanford, a 77-year-old Fairfield landlord, was arrested on several charges after he shot and killed a woodchuck on his Black Rock Turnpike property and then threatened his tenant.
  • Hayley Negrin, an 11-year-old from Weston, won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for her portrayal of Peg in “Peg+Cat,” an educational PBS show for preschoolers.
