The National Weather Service is calling for light rain, mainly before 10 a.m., then tapering off through the day.

The high temperature will be near 55 degrees, with a north wind of 9 to 15 mph and gusts as high as 26 mph.

Combined with Tuesday's accumulation, about a half-inch of rain is expected to fall across Fairfield County.

Showers will continue on and off from Wednesday into Thursday, with rain becoming more steady by Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 50s will return Friday.
