Johnathan "Whitey" Reyes, 24, was charged after an FBI task force investigation into narcotics trafficking and violent criminal activity in and around the Trumbull Gardens housing complex in Bridgeport.

They seized an iPad that contained numerous videos, including three that depicted Reyes at a shooting range firing various firearms, Daly said.

Reyes, who had been convicted of first-degree burglary, reckless endangerment, risk of injury and possessing a pistol without having a permit in 2007, was in violation of his probation for shooting the weapons, she said.

In addition to 24 months in prison, Reyes will also serve an additional two years of supervised release.

Reyes, who has been detained since his arrest on May 1, pleaded guilty to one count possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon.

He was sentenced Tuesday by Senior U.S. District Judge Warren W. Eginton in Bridgeport.

The case has been investigated by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, in coordination with the Bridgeport Police Department, Norwalk Police Department, Trumbull Police Department and Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force.
