Disabled Amtrak Train Near East Norwalk Causes Metro-North Delays

update: NORWALK, Conn. — As of 8:30 p.m., Metro-North trains on the New Haven Line were experiencing residual delays of 15 to 20 minutes due to earlier wire damage between Noroton Heights and Greens Farms. An Amtrak train was out of service earlier due to problems with the overhead wires, Metro-North said.

original story: NORWALK, Conn. — Train riders on the New Haven Line were experiencing delays Tuesday afternoon due to a disabled Amtrak train near East Norwalk, according to Metro-North. 

The delay was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday by Metro-North. Many of the train delays were estimated at 30 minutes or more, according to Metro-North. 

Metro-North said updates will be provided as more information becomes available on the situation. 

Train riders are advised to listen for announcements at their stations.
