FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Fairfield Ludlowe High School student led police and his parents on a chase around campus Tuesday afternoon after being charged with drug possession, police say.
School administrators told police that the student was seen smoking a joint outside the schools building. Fairfield police issued an infraction to the student for possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana. He is due in juvenile court on Feb. 22. He was then turned over to his parents.
Shortly afterward, police received reports of a young man running across Unquowa Road near the school. Officials confirmed that the runner was the student, who was trying to evade his parents.
Police officers, including the K-9 unit, were called in to assist in the search for the student. He was later found in a wooded area behind the school.
