Fairfield Drowning Victim's Family Seeks Help On Funeral Costs

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The family of the girl who drowned Tuesday night in Lake Mohegan is asking for help covering her funeral expenses. Bridgeport’s Funeraria Luz de Paz made the announcement Wednesday on its Facebook page.
"We appreciate any and all contributions and will be making sure the family receives a list of all those who will contribute or you can make your contribution anonymous,” wrote funeral director Edgar Rodriguez on his business's Facebook page.
Rodriguez added that the funeral home will stop collecting donations once the expenses are met.
The funeral home has also posted a memorial page dedicated to the victim, 10-year-old Catherine Celina Perez Trujillo of Bridgeport. The site includes sections for condolence messages for the family and for making memorial donations.
Those interested in donating or with questions about the effort can contact the funeral home at 203-330-8081.
