An eight-year old cock-a-poo had gotten stuck under slabs of concrete and construction debris, and with the forecast calling for heavy rains, the officers had to work quickly, Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola.

Within a half-hour of the original call, the dog was free and returned to its owner with the help of structural collapse rescue tools and traditional digging equipment.
