FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Fairfield woman was charged with driving under the influence Monday in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred in October. Diana Sedito, 60, of Edge Hill Road struck another car and tried to walk away, police say.
The incident occurred on the Post Road near Unquowa Road on the afternoon of Oct. 29. According to the police report, after Sedito struck another vehicle she left on foot along the Post Road. When officers found her, they said her eyes were bloodshot and there was an odor of alcohol on her breath. After she failed field sobriety tests, she was taken to St. Vincents Hospital for treatment.
Police charged Sedito with driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic signal and evading responsibility. She was released on a $2,500 bond and is due in court Dec. 13.

? A window was broken at Fairfield Warde High School over the weekend. The schools custodian told police that as he was working Saturday he heard the sound of glass breaking. When he went to investigate, he discovered a window had been shattered. The damage was estimated at $50.
? A South Benson Road resident reported the theft of jewelry and cash from his house sometime during the last two months. The homeowner told police Monday that the house is for sale and has been shown to potential buyers between October and November. Recently he found that a $3,500 pearl necklace, various other jewelry items and $300 in cash were missing.
