A Fairfield man was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly attempting to use a forged prescription to buy painkillers. Michiel Schouten, 33, of Longview Avenue went to the drive-through pharmacy at Rite-Aid on the Post Road to fill an order for Vicodin. The pharmacist said he suspected Schouten had changed the order from Motrin, and asked him to come back later.
The pharmacist told police that he confirmed that the prescription had been forged. When Schouten returned later, Fairfield Police officers were waiting to put him under arrest.
He was charged with second-degree forgery and alteration of a prescription. He was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court March 22.

? Peter Craft, 53, of Cambridge Street was charged with breach of the peace Wednesday evening following a dispute with his girlfriend in his home. Crafts girlfriend told police that during an argument he struck her three times. The arresting officer said there were visible marks on the victims face. Officers found Craft hiding in his garage. He was due to appear in court Thursday.
? Karl Belamour, 22, of Stratford was arrested on drug charges early Thursday morning while driving on Commerce Drive in Fairfield. An officer pulled over Belamours car around 2 a.m. Thursday because he was missing a front license plate. The officer noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the car, and during a search found a bag containing marijuana on Belamour.
Belamour was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court March 22. He was also charged with driving with a suspended license, failure to turn in a suspended license and failure to display a license plate. Belamour is due in court March 21.
