“Given there have been many questions on rebuilding from beach area residents following storm Sandy, the town would like to give residents an opportunity to be fully informed on how best to proceed with rebuilding and getting back into their homes,” First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a press release.
The seminar’s panel will include representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration, who will answer questions about getting federal loans and aid. They also will explain the options to homeowners for covering the costs associated with rebuilding to meet new flood codes.
The town’s building officials, plan and zoning officers and director of community and economic development also will be there to explain the town’s policies on rebuilding in the beach area and help available from the town’s government.
The information session will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Road.
