Fairfield Prepares To Light The Holiday Tree, Welcome Santa

FAIRFIELD,Conn. -- Fairfield’s 90-foot tall Norway spruce will be in full glory Friday at the annual tree lighting.

The festivities will begin at 5:55 p.m., and at 7 p.m. the tree will be in full light as Santa Claus arrives on a fire engine.

Choirs from all three Fairfield middle schools will come together to sing holiday songs followed by the Bridgeport Theatre Company and the Fairfield Warde Choral Group.

First Selectman Mike Tetreau will lead the countdown for the tree lighting, and a Fairfield resident nominated by the town will flip the switch for the lights.

Afterward Santa and Mrs. Claus will come on one of Fairfield's Fire Trucks, ringing in the holiday season.
