Fairfield Residents Should Plan For Power Outages

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield residents should prepare for power outages on Wednesday, July 27 when United Illuminating (UI) performs maintenance work at three substations.

According to the company, the maintenance work will improve reliability and resilience of the system.

The outage, which will affect 2,000 residents, is scheduled to take place from 12:01 a.m. to 1 a.m. In the case of severe weather, the work will be cancelled and rescheduled. Residents should have received a letter from UI informing them of the planned outage.

The following streets will be affected by the outage:

Customers with questions — including those with medical conditions or generators — can call UI’s Scheduled Outage Hotline at 877-491-9533. Callers will be prompted to enter the Outage Identification Number, which can be found in the outage letter mailed to customers affected by the outages.
