“These awards have become a popular and rewarding tradition in Fairfield," Tetreau said. "They give our community an opportunity to highlight the many wonderful and devoted residents and employees who serve as the backbone to our great Town. I encourage individuals to nominate people in our community who you believe are deserving of these special awards.”

All members of the public, including town and school employees, are encouraged to submit their nominations to the First Selectman’s Office by noon Friday, Oct. 31.

Nomination criteria and forms for each award can be obtained in the First Selectman's Office in Independence Hall or by visiting www.fairfieldct.org/bos and clicking on Board of Selectmen Awards under Additional Links.

This page also lists previous winners.

An independent committee will review all submitted nomination forms and then recommend three finalists for each award to the Board of Selectmen, which will select the two final winners.

Later this fall, the Board of Selectmen will present awards to two outstanding individuals—one Fairfield resident and one Town Employee.
