Fairfield Reminds Residents Of Memorial Day Parade Details

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield will observe Memorial Day with a parade Monday.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Post and South Pine Creek roads. The parade will proceed east from South Pine Creek Road along the Post Road to the library then south on Old Post Road to Flint's Corner then east along Old Post Road. The parade will then pass the Town Green and continue beyond South Benson Road. 

Motorists are advised to expect delays and closures between 9 a.m. and noon. Traffic will not be permitted along the parade route beginning at 9 a.m.

Post Road will be closed from Unquowa Place to Sasco Hill Road. Traffic will not be allowed on South Benson Road or on Beach Road south of Post Road to Judson Road. Through traffic will not be allowed on South Pine Creek Road after 9 a.m.

Parking also will not be permitted along the parade route. 

Paradegoers can begin laying chairs or blankets along the parade route beginning Sunday morning.
