FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Police have made an arrest in the theft of packages from Southport homes last Christmas.
Fairfield Police received 12 reports of packages stolen from doorsteps in the Southport area of Fairfield between Dec. 5 and Dec. 15. Rebecca Larew, 48, of Pease Avenue, was charged on Feb. 25 in the incidents.
Investigators searched Larew's car on Dec. 16 and found seven of the items reported stolen, police said.
She is suspected of taking $1,855 worth of televisions, games, DVDs and other electronics, police said.
Larew, who police said cooperated with the investigation, was charged with fourth-degree larceny, and released on a promise to appear in court. She is due to enter a plea on March 29.
