Fairfield's Town Dump, Recycling Center Reopen Friday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s town dump and recycling center will reopen Friday morning, allowing residents to begin getting rid of brush and other debris knocked onto their yards by Hurricane Sandy.

Both the Greencycle recycling center and the town-run trash transfer station were under water until Thursday and inaccessible to residents. Both will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and both are located at the end of One Rod Highway.

The town is also planning to set up a curbside brush pickup early next week. The exact dates will be released as soon as they are finalized.  For more information, call the town’s storm information line at 203-254-4899.
