Residents in the beach-front area often see flooding during big storms. And a total of 2 inches of rain is in the forecast for Tuesday, so more flooding is possible along Long Island Sound and in other areas across town.

Urban roads and highways as well as low-lying and coastal areas are especially prone to flooding in nor'easters.

A flood advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday in southern Fairfield County along with a wind advisory until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents and motorists should take caution when traveling and walking in the area.

The rain will continue into Wednesday, as temperatures remain chilly in the mid-30s.
