How Are Fairfield's Sidewalks?

Most roads in Fairfield are completely clear of the results of this weekend’s blizzard. Sidewalks, however, are a different story. Even in front of some shops in the Town Center along the Post Road, it can be treacherous for walking, as the photos here attest.

Away from the main roads, some sidewalks are even worse. Because of the high amount of accumulation Sunday and Monday, the Department of Public Works gave homeowners a full week to clear sidewalks in front of their houses, instead of the usual 24 hours. But by New Year’s Day, all residents must have their sidewalks clear. The town will handle those that aren’t passable and send a bill to the homeowner.
